British born and living in Tokyo. I am a university educator interested in the international relations of East and Southeast Asia.

When not in Japan I spend a lot of time researching in the Mekong countries: Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, and Myanmar.

When not teaching and researching, the goal is to live well. Carpentry, food, onsens, and music help to keep the train on the tracks.
